Access Restrictions
Voyager Administrators can configure access to control the types of data that individual users can access.
Location-Based Access restricts access to only certain types of items from certain locations
Query-Based Access restricts access based on query settings
Administrators can use Windows permissions to filter the results available to a user. There are three options:
Filter search results from folder locations using Windows permissions
Filter search results from ArcGIS Server using Windows permissions
Filter search results from Portal for ArcGIS using Windows permissions
Configuring Access Restrictions
To configure access restrictions:
Go to Manage > Security > Access.
Each option is described below.
Location-Based Access Restrictions
Use Location-Based Access Restriction for a specific location or locations, so that you can configure which user groups have access to that data.
To configure Location access restrictions:
Check the Enabled box under Location Based Access.
Click Show Content that is not associated to a location to display data that might not have an indexing location associated to it. This can happen when a location was removed from the indexing settings but the administrator chose to keep the items in the index.
Click Locations to see the list of all Locations.
Click the Edit icon next to a location, shown above outlined in red.
Configuring Group-based Access
To configure group-based access to the location, select an existing Group from the Security drop-down menu. You can add more than one Group from the list.
Click Save when you are done.
Query-Based Access Restrictions
Query-based access allows an administrator to limit access based on a specific query. Â
To specify a query:
Run a search with the appropriate keyword, spatial or location filter in another Voyager window
Copy and paste the URL that results into this dialog. For example, the following query constrains search results to items containing metadata:Â
http://localhost:888/voyager/#/f.properties=hasMetadata/Â
Click Save.
After you set the access conditions, you will see statistics showing the number of records that will be affected. You can edit or remove Access filtering at any time to grant full permissions to all files for the specified user type.
ManifoldCF Security Integration
Voyager can index records from Content Management Systems, for example SharePoint document libraries using ManifoldCF.  See Adding Content - Content Management Systems for more information.Â
Filtering Search Results using Windows Permissions
If enabled, you can filter Voyager's search results based on Windows permissions.  There are three options:
Filter search results from folder locations using Windows permissions
Filter search results from ArcGIS Server using Windows permissions
Filter search results from Portal for ArcGIS using Windows permissions
See Filtering Search Results using Windows Permissions for detailed information on creating these filter types.
