Voyager for ArcGIS Pro
Voyager for ArcGIS Pro allows users to access a Voyager index from within their Esri ArcGIS Pro instance. Voyager for ArcGIS Pro can be downloaded from the Esri Marketplace. Two versions are available, including a free and a subscription-based version. Voyager for ArcGIS Pro is also included in a subscription to Voyager Search’s newest product, Vose.
Connecting to Your Voyager Index (full version only)
The Connection button has two parts. The top-half works as a quick disconnect if you are already connected to an instance. It also behaves as a quick connect to the last instance you were connected to.
Pressing the bottom half of the button will open a drop-down where you can select one of your previously defined instances. Pressing the Manage Connections button will open the connection manager where you can define and connect to a new instance.
Querying Data
There are three main tools used to query your Voyager instance from the Add-in.
The first is the Search Pane. This pane contains a search bar that accepts any keyword query or other query operators. This is also the main pane where results can be seen.
Click a result to focus it. Focused results will expand to reveal more information if available as well as provide actions. Use the actions to quickly zoom to a document’s extent, add it to the map, or view the details in Navigo.
Click on the results count to view the list of results in Navigo.
Clicking the applied filters count at the top right of the pane will open the Filters Pane. The filters pane will fetch the filters that have been pre-configured on the saved search.
Filter categories can be opened or closed. Opening a category will reveal the first 10 filters. Filters are listed by the count of documents that match, descending. Hovering over a filter will reveal the Inverse button on the right side. Clicking this will remove any results from the list that match the filter.
If the filter is not in the first 10 items, pressing Show all at the bottom will open a window with all of the filters listed, including the counts.
Clicking a filter will add it to the Applied Filters area as well as increment the count on the filter and search panes.
Click the filter again in the list or press the “X” next to the applied filter to remove it. Pressing the “X” at the top of the applied filters area will remove all filters.
The add-in is also able to use Voyager’s Query Expansion. This essentially expands the query to include similar terms. You can enable/disable the feature quickly by using the toggle. If you wish to remove only certain terms, you may uncheck them individually.
The Map Tools option will open a floating tool. Here you may enter placenames if the Server’s gazetteer is configured. Otherwise, you can enter standard WKT coordinates. Using the map tools listed to draw shapes and apply buffers will filter the query and auto-populate the WKT for you.
When you connect to a server, the configured saved searches are loaded. Select a saved search to apply all of the corresponding filters.
The Status section of the Ribbon will display if the Add-in is currently running a task or not. Many tasks can be cancelled simply by pressing the Idle/Running button.
