Configuring Scheduling and Triggers
You can schedule Voyager to run some tasks at specified times or events. This is especially useful in keeping the index updated when new locations are added or the existing content changes.
You can schedule the following tasks:
Scan a location
Rebuild the index
Scan all locations
Enable Discovery
Disable Discovery
Backup the index
Clear Log files
Clear temporary files
When you schedule a task, you select when it will start with a Trigger. Triggers can be time-based values such as hourly or daily, or can be based on events such as Voyager starting up or Indexing documents. When the conditions for a Trigger are met, the selected task will begin.
You can add new Triggers or configure an existing Trigger.
Adding a New Trigger
To add a new Trigger:
Go to Manage Voyager > Discovery > Schedule
Select a scheduling scheme from the Add Trigger section - you can choose:
Â
Time of DaySelect a Day and time
Periodic (a regular time interval)

Cron scheduling uses the format <Seconds> <Minutes> <Hours> <Day-of-Month> <Month> <Day-of-Week> <Year>. For example, 0 0 0 13 * ? creates a trigger that fires at 0:0:0AM on the 13th day of every month. For more information about creating Cron triggers, see this Tutorial and this page.An EventSelect an event from the drop-down menu, for example, Voyager StartedÂ
Configuring an Existing Trigger
To configure an existing Trigger:
Go to Manage Voyager > Discovery > Schedule
Click Manage for the Trigger you want to modify
You can Add a Task or remove an existing Task, or you can Click Remove to delete the Trigger completely
Click Close when you are done modifying the Trigger
