Collecting Repository Information

Before you install Voyager, it is a good idea to survey all of the data that Voyager will be indexing.  You should compile a list of data by location (e.g. folders, file servers, databases, FTP sites, web services, ArcGIS Online or Geocortex).  You should also try to estimate the size of a particular data set and identify how often it is updated (e.g. hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, yearly etc.).

It is usually convenient to gather this information in a spreadsheet or table so you have it at hand while configuring Voyager.  It can also be very helpful to Voyager Support should you need help or have questions about installation or configuration.
