Collecting Repository Information
Before you install Voyager, it is a good idea to survey all of the data that Voyager will be indexing.  You should compile a list of data by location (e.g. folders, file servers, databases, FTP sites, web services, ArcGIS Online or Geocortex).  You should also try to estimate the size of a particular data set and identify how often it is updated (e.g. hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, yearly etc.).
It is usually convenient to gather this information in a spreadsheet or table so you have it at hand while configuring Voyager. Â It can also be very helpful to Voyager Support should you need help or have questions about installation or configuration.Â
